M.R left the Santa Clara County Main Jail in 2022 and was transferred to state prison. A gang member with a long history in the criminal justice system, he began to attend our Christian services in the jail and requested to meet with me one on one. He made a commitment to follow God in his life and began to change. Recently he wrote this from prison:

“Chaplain Tom has been a constant godly voice in the midst of the confusion, lies and deceit which are pervasive in the prison system. He was there to help navigate me through some of the darkest moments of my life (divorce, a life sentence, and the loss of all that I held dear). He always pointed me to the Word of God and to the Lord Jesus Christ who is able to accomplish infinitely more than we can ask or think. He picked me up as often as I needed until I was able to walk on my own, and even then he walked alongside of me, praying over me and encouraging me to keep pressing on, reaching towards the eternal goal, towards the Lord Jesus Christ who is able and willing to heal, restore broken men, and transform them into vessels of righteousness.”
